This video features the next generation BMW X3 being spied tested on the Nrburgring Nordschleife ahead of an expected debut date late this year or early next year. As well as being more fun to drive, the new BMW X3 will be lighter and more economical than before. We can expect an adaptation of the current engine line-up, ranging from the basic rear-wheel-drive 18d, through to the range-topping all-wheel-drive xDrive 35d. Rumour has it BMW might even introduce a faster M-Performance models, perhaps badged X3M 40i or X3M 40d.A plug-in version is also a possibility, though its unclear whether this will be available from launch. Contrary to the rest of the X3 range, this would probably use a 2.0-litre petrol engine mated to a powerful electric motor!Liked the video?
